Agility Foundation Training - Beginning Agility
Maybe you have seen it on TV or your local dog park has some agility equipment to play on, in any case, agility is probably the biggest dog sport around. Basically, the dogs go over jumps, climb up planks, run through tunnels and weave between poles. It is a great way to have fun with your dog and provides exercise for you and your canine. Dogs have to run a course in a particular order of obstacles which means they need their humans to show them where to go next. We teach the dogs the obstacles and the humans handling skills. As with any dog sport you can train just for fun or train with the thought of winning ribbons some day. Any healthy dog can play, no matter how old. Beginning agility is done on leash, so your dog doesn’t even have to be off-leashed trained to start in agility. Like all training, agility should be fun and will strengthen the relationship you have with your dog.

Continuing Agility Class
These classes are for dogs that have had some agility training. The dogs should be comfortable on all the equipment. Focus will be on handling skills, increasing the dog’s reliability and speed on the equipment, and sequencing the obstacles. Class placement is determined by your dog’s level of training.
